Summary:

Candidates may be considered for 1 of the following roles:

Packaging Operators: Responsible for achieving standards and be qualified in all activities associated with at least two packaging machines. Able to set-up the packaging lines, do changeovers, assemble/ disassemble packing lines, cleaning, and training. Able to perform all the positions on the line, Ex., able to cover as a packer and material handler (palletizer) as needed.

Processing Operators: Qualified to run at least two Enrobing lines on the wet processing end.

Key Accountabilities & Deliverables

Packaging Operators:

  • Set up the lines at the beginning of the shift.

  • Fill out the First Perfect Piece (document specifications completion)

  • Performs CCP & CQP - metal detector checks

  • Monitor weights of products

  • Ability to determine when and how to shutdown lines

  • Able to handle routine duties including zipper change, film change, corrugate material to pack

  • Troubleshoot issues with knives, scales, weights, jams, tape machines, censors

  • Training of new packers and material handlers

  • Monitors and tracks productivity through accurate documentation

  • Looks for opportunities to maximize line effectiveness, ex. Speed up lines

  • Responsible for paperwork associated with consumptions

  • Follows all GMP rules and regulations

  • Assist in all positions/ jobs involved in the line (s) as needed or directed by management

  • Perform allergen cleans

  • Perform tool changes

  • Cleaning lines and production floor as needed

  • Other duties as assigned by management

Processing Operators:

  • Set up the Enrobing lines

  • Temper the Enrobing lines

  • Manage the speed and quality of the lines

  • Understand the components of the different products, nuts, caramel, chocolate, pretzels

  • Manage chocolate temperature readings

  • Make proper adjustments to the lines, as needed.

  • Assemble and disassemble water belts, conveyors, pumps

  • Filter changes

  • Identify root cause for clogs, frozen lines, leaks, build-up

  • Heat up piping

  • Needs to monitor production on the Dry End

  • Recommends suggestions for improvement

  • Required to read, understand, and follow all customer specifications

  • Changeovers

  • Cleaning of lines and full allergen cleans

  • Effective training of new or current team members

  • Monitors and tracks productivity/ quality and looks for opportunities to maximize line effectiveness

  • Monitors and controls weights of products

  • Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and completing all paperwork associated with consumptions

  • Follows and ensures that all GMP rules and regulations are followed on the lines

  • Assist in all positions involved in the line as needed or directed by management

  • Other duties as assigned by management

Skills & Experience:

  • 6 months of manufacturing experience for Packaging Operators

  • 1 year of manufacturing experience for Processing Operators

  • Ability to read and understand customer specifications

  • Basic math skills

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

Base starting rate ranges from $22.00 to $23.50/hr. The base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
