Tommy’s Express Car Wash isn’t your average car wash. We’re a high-tech, guest-focused, premium experience, designed to wow every guest from entry to exit. Training and Promotions:

You won't be thrown in without support. As a Trainee during your 60-day onboarding period you will focus on learning all areas of the wash.

You will receive:

  • An assigned mentor
  • Hands on, onsite learning
  • Online modules and certifications
  • Checklists that outline your skill development so you can keep track of your progress 


After your 60-day training period, you will have a performance review. If approved you will be promoted to Team Member and receive a $.50/hour increase.

What You’ll Do:

This role is a blend of guest experience and hands-on operations. No two shifts are exactly the same. You'll rotate between key areas like:

  • Window Sales (POS)
  • Guest Experience and Memberships
  • Tunnel Operations (Flight Deck)
  • Facility and Equipment Care


What this Actually Looks Like:

  • Work outdoors in all types of weather in a hands-on, active environment
  • Rotate between guest service, cleaning, and operations
  • Support your team and deliver a great guest experience
  • Promote memberships and earn sales incentives/commissions
  • Use POS systems, apps, and dashboards to manage guest accounts and transactions
  • Keep equipment and property clean and running smoothly
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment (as you grow in  your role)

What You Bring:

  • Strong customer service mindset (experience preferred, but not required)
  • Sales confidence or willingness to learn
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, active environment
  • Ability to be on your feet your entire shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Dependability (show up when you are scheduled!)
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Team -first mindset and desire to help others
  • Strong technology skills (POS systems, apps, tablets, dashboards) and ability to learn new systems and tools

This job isn’t for everyone. You probably won't like it if:

  • You don’t like being on your feet and moving most of your shift
  • You prefer working indoors
  • You get frustrated when things get busy, loud, or fast-paced
  • You don’t like switching tasks throughout the day
  • You’re not comfortable using technology, systems, and screens regularly
  • You prefer working solo
  • You struggle with feedback or when people correct you
  • You want a job where you can just coast

Our Expectations

  • Follow all uniform and PPE requirements
  • Have reliable transportation of your own
  • Work weekends as scheduled
  • Availability between 6:00 AM – 9:30 PM, however, we are willing to accommodate most schedule requests
  • Work overtime as required
  • Cover shifts when needed

The Nitty Gritty

  • We are happy to consider those with a criminal backgrounds so long as the offense is not job-related.  You are welcome to provide more information in your application.
  • We are tattoo friendly, however our corporate requirements do not allow for face or neck tattoos.
  • We have two sites in Lansing at this time and will be expanding to add two more sites. There is some flexibility here, so please indicate location preference when applying.
