Job description

Utility Infrastructure Engineer / Civil or Electrical
Junior Engineer Civil Engineer or Electrical Engineer
Location: Oakbrook Terrace, IL. 60181 (Hybrid)
Duration: 1 year plus contract assignment. Possible temp to perm hire.
40 hours per week, 3 days per week in office, remote from home 2 days per week.
You will work with the Public Utility relocation department of ComEd to Identify conflicts with existing utility assets and facilities with improved infrastructure projects.
Reviewing Civil roadway plans from roadway agencies and municipalities such as IDOT for proposed Roadway improvements and review and determine if their plans affect our Utility lines and facilities. You will then Send over plans to PM team who will run with it. Review road plans associate where facilities are and determine if conflict exists and how to proceed.
The engineer will use ComEd maps and systems, GIS, to Identify where ComEd facilities are located and are they in conflict with new and proposed infrastructure projects. Recommend next steps and make revisions. Try to find solutions to conflicts and hand over to PMs to proceed with relocations projects.
Required Qualifications:
Must have Driver's license and car. Fieldwork might be needed at times.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering – Civil or Electrical, maybe mechanical but Civil is most preferred.
Experience/ Knowledge in roadway design preferred
Internship or 1-3 years of experience.
Experience in using or able to review in Adobe, AutoCAD, MicroStation.
Engineer with utilities projects experience a plus.
Able to read and understand Utility maps and utility installation plans, roadway and easement plans.
