Job description

The New Car Inventory Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the new vehicle inventory, including supervision of the lot and detail teams. This role ensures all new vehicles are properly received, stocked, and displayed according to dealership and manufacturer standards. The position supports the General Sales Manager in maximizing vehicle visibility, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring a clean and organized presentation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Communicating daily to dealership management on all retail and wholesale deliveries
  • Maintaining order system integrity by issuing purchase orders, monitoring purchase orders and change notices to ensure all requirements have been ordered
  • Evaluating vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate
  • Managing the expediting of product releases to alleviate inventory shortages
  • Maintaining vendor metrics for optimal improvement
  • Inputting all new and used incoming inventory into the dealership accounting system
  • Reconciling monthly by completing a monthly physical inventory
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents
  • Supervisory responsibilities for N/C Detail department including hiring, progressive discipline, terminations, training and support
  • Demonstrates behavior consistent with the company's vision, mission and values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and suppliers
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety standards

Requirements:

  • Professional appearance and work ethic
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three plus years prior automotive industry and automotive sales experience
  • Strong computer knowledge including spreadsheets, word processing, order entry, inventory systems
  • Strong math, analytical and problem solving skills required
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks and follow up consistently
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • High School Diploma

  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license
