Requirements include:

  • Identify relevant news of local importance.
  • Develop news stories and public affairs programs that address local issues.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing and production skills
  • Establish a good working relationship with local authorities and community leaders.
  • Exemplify good interpersonal and communication skills to foster a harmonious working relationship with members of the New
  • Media Broadcasters team.
  • Utilize enhanced computer skills and knowledge of digital editing tools to produce and update information for on-air, online, mobile and voice applications.
  • Coordinate efforts to assure the news department has a strong presence in the community.
  • Ability to demonstrate quality News reporting and on On-Air delivery, digital and multimedia skills, and, most importantly show an active interest in the local community.

Benefit Package valued at approximately $10,000

  • Salary is dependent on experience and can and will increase with proven performance.
  • ·Health Insurance: 75% of your Health Insurance (currently Blue Cross/Shield Bronze Plan).
  • ·Dental insurance: New Media Broadcasters self-insured company plan has NO premium charge for the employee at this time (reserve pool is currently large enough for us to waive premium payments).
  • ·401(k) Plan: 3% initial NMB match and 1⁄2% NMB match for each additional 1% individual contribution up to 5% total. Fully funded, government preferred, Safe Harbor Plan. Eligibility after first year of employment.
  • ·Paid Leave: Two (2) weeks paid Vacation after first year of employment and Six (6) personal/sick days per year (personal days are not to cause an undue burden on the rest of the staff by your absence).
  • Relocation: Assistance up to $1,000. Must present receipts and all money repaid if you leave employment before the end of your first year.
  • Gas allowance: Company credit card (gas allowance evaluated periodically)
  • Smartphone: Business (limited personal use) with special software for codecs, recording, editing, etc.

An enclosed vehicle in good operating condition is a necessary requirement.

We are located approximately two miles north of the city and weather conditions demand a four wheel, all wheel or front wheel drive vehicle with good ground clearance.
