Job description

D-Riven Engineered Solutions is looking for an experienced and accountable Senior Operations Engineer to join the Industrial Engineering division. This position will be responsible for interfacing with internal and external customer project teams while managing the execution of technically complex project tasks to meet the customers’ varied needs, along with upholding D-Riven’s high safety and quality standards.

Starting Pay Range: $101k-110k annually

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities

:

In this position, the employee will be responsible to:

**

  • Uphold D-Riven’s health and safety standards throughout the execution of a given project, along with ensuring compliance with customer safety rules and regulations

  • Coordinate with internal and external customer management teams in support of scope of work development, and project costing, quoting, and planning activities

  • Support D-Riven Project Engineers and Program Managers in the development of comprehensive timelines and resource plans

  • Support the development of engineering design packages

  • Serve as the overall technical lead for the projects that are assigned

  • Locate and review project-relevant engineering schematics/drawings including utility system demands, machine foundation requirements, etc.

  • Complete engineering design reviews with customers and vendors

  • Work with municipalities and inspectors on permitted projects

  • Develop comprehensive resource plans based on project scopes

  • Engage vendors to support the quoting process, sourcing of materials, and the execution of projects

  • Generate workflow plans for technically complex aspects of larger programs and assign responsibilities to internal and vendor project teams

  • Provide direction to internal and external teams of pipefitters and plumbers on mechanical system installations

  • Provide direction to internal and external teams of electricians and controls technicians on electrical system installations

  • Review technical reports generated by Project Engineers prior to distribution to internal management, or customer project teams

  • Ensure the work completed on all projects under your purview meets D-Riven’s rigorous standards and address items with the project team or vendors when these expectations are not met

  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, best-practices, Quality Assurance/Quality Control policies, and specifications

  • Provide experience-based guidance to Project Engineers and Team Leads under your supervision

  • Hold formal and informal performance evaluations with Project Engineers and Team Leads

  • Interact with clients daily to convey key progress updates, answer questions, and interpret their evolving needs

This position is 75% travel means you will be on the road with a travel team in other states 3-4 weeks at a time….sometimes a couple of months at a time.

  • All travel arrangements and expenses (hotel/flights/rental car) are made and paid for in advance by the company. If you drive your auto to the work site from

  • home, you will be able to expense mileage at a rate of .725 per mile, but not to and from the jobsite each day from your hotel.

  • We also pay $70.00 per diem each day.

  • You accrue 120 hours of PTO (vacation, sick, personal days, etc) which you can take upon approval from your Manager.

  • Your health benefits package is active the first day of the month following your start date.

  • There are occasional breaks from the job, especiallyduring holidays, but since you would be a member of the travel team, you will be traveling continuously.

To be qualified for the position, applicants must possess:

  • 3+ years proven field experience as an Operations Engineer, Technical Manager, Maintenance Manager, Project Engineer, or equivalent in an industrial environment

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively (70%-80% travel) and work on site for extended periods (2-4 weeks straight) as workload demands

  • The drive to lead from the front, and by example

  • Own and maintain a vehicle that is reliable and suited for interstate travel

  • A working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks design software

  • A mastery of the interpretation of engineering drawings, schematics, and standards

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills:

Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project

  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, and best practices in the industrial field

  • The ability to interface knowledgably with a multidisciplinary project team:

Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Concrete/Masonry, Rigging

  • Proven project management and supervisory skills

  • Advanced critical-thinking and decision-making ability

  • Willingness to adhere to and enforce internal and external health and safety standards

  • Time management and organization skills

  • A willingness to work in unclean or uncomfortable environments, when required

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or similar relevant field required

  • Electrical or mechanical trade certifications will be viewed equitably

  • Prior training or education in business management, or organizational management preferred
