Responsibilities
Now hiring for a Plant Manager at our Jacksonville, NC manufacturing plant. In this role you will be counted on for the following:
Leadership:
  • Provide leadership and vision for the organization by setting strategy, driving and improving employee engagement, maintaining the right mix of skill sets, staff size, and development activities to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Establish objectives for direct reports, monitor progress, and provide coaching and support to achieve desired results. Translate broader corporate initiatives into plant specific action plans. Lead / promote use of the MSA Operating System at all levels within the organization.
  • Develop strong working relationships with other key company functions (Engineering, Marketing, Sales, etc.)

Environmental Health and Safety:
  • Drive safe practices in all aspects of the plant. Engage associates to participate in proactive safety and ergonomic programs including Behavior Based Safety, etc. Ensure systems and procedures are in place to meet OSHA and other regulatory compliance.

Quality:
  • Ensure products are produced in accordance with design requirements, production processes adhere to the MSA Quality Management System and regulatory agencies, and customer issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Delivery Performance:
  • Establish production processes / systems to ensure customers' delivery expectations are met.

Continuous Improvement / Product Cost Reduction:
  • Drive continuous improvement activities; collaborate with supply chain, engineering and continuous improvement groups on projects to reduce product costs.

New Products:
  • Collaborate with NPD teams to introduce new products into production, on schedule and within budget.

Financial Performance:
  • Develop and drive performance to the annual budget. Manage and report on plant performance for customer service, product / process quality, safety, employee relations, and other regulatory financial compliance as needed. Apply business analytics and financial analysis to drive decisions.

Capital Equipment:
  • Identify short- and long-term needs for capital equipment for the plant.

Education and Experience Required:
This position is available at two different career levels depending on experience, education, etc.:
B.S. degree in related field or educational academic equivalent.
  • Level I:
    • 5 or more years production supervision or project management experience.
    • 5 or more years of production or related experience.
  • Level II:
    • 5 or more years production supervision or project management experience.
    • 7 or more years of production or related experience.

Education and Experience Preferred:
  • Master's or advanced degree or certification. Experience managing others in supervisory roles as well as multiple departments/multiple shifts.
  • Experience leading Lean, Six-Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or EHS initiatives, or implementing new processes.
