As we invest in advanced memory production, you will play a key role in capital planning and management while automating multi-billion-dollar capital investments that support Micron’s long-term growth. As a Capital Planning Engineer, you will have the outstanding opportunity to influence critical expansion initiatives in Boise, Idaho and Clay, New York. You will provide strategic financial insights and influence executive decisions driving semiconductor manufacturing capacity in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and lead capital investment scenarios and summarize financial impacts for tactical and strategic decisions for fab expansion
  • Validate and submit capital assumptions and budget justifications throughout planning cycles
  • Influence executive decision-making through data analysis, scenario modeling, and recommendations using SAP, Excel, VBA script, Python and PowerBI
  • Lead site capital planning processes, including monthly capital reviews, transfer requests, and savings initiatives
  • Report financial risks, budget discrepancies, and project updates while promoting accountability across multi-functional teams of Finance, Procurement, Planning and Engineering
  • Lead SAP and system optimization opportunities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or similar
  • More than 2 years of experience in production scheduling, capacity management, finance, or a similar role related to capital
  • Strong knowledge of financial metrics, budgeting processes, and capital planning methodologies
  • Proven track record analyzing complex data, developing recommendations, and communicating results to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Validated capability to operate autonomously and work well with diverse functional groups
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Familiarity with planning and supply chain concepts
  • Experience solving complex, ambiguous business problems through structured analytical approaches in a highly matrixed, multi-functional environments
  • Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows to improve business processes and decision making
