Job description

Scope of Position

The Planning Coordinator enables the Environmental Graphics & Signage / Interior Design planning teams to work strategically with project teams assembled for clinical, academic and research projects. The Planning Coordinator assists and works with the planning, design, and construction staff with the development of facility projects (renovation and new construction) and the refurbishment of existing facilities.

The Planning Coordinator provides scheduling assistance on internal project teams, and with outside Associates. Diverse areas of administrative support provided includes reports relating to capital planning, space planning and programming, costs and estimating, standards, and data base management. The PC assists with presentations, prepares special reports, and helps document project activity. The PC can work independently on minor projects. The PC supports projects with field survey work and installation vendor coordination.

The Planning Coordinator maintains a regular dialogue with OSUWMC Supply Chain and Facilities, Design and Construction (FDC) staff. The Planning Coordinator should have a working knowledge of Architectural drawings, basic building codes and accreditation standards.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in design or graphic related disciplines, or equivalent experience.

Required Experience

Proficiency desired in Adobe Creative Suite software, with emphasis on but not limited to Illustrator and Photoshop. Proficiency desired in AutoCAD and Revit. Experience using Bluebeam, Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency desired in Microsoft Project or Project Management software is desired. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, is required. Reasonable training may be provided in such areas, as deemed appropriate.
