Job description

Role Overview:
This role is for a Functional QA Lead focused on designing and implementing end-to-end functional test plans and strategies within the capital markets and financial services domain.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design end-to-end functional test plans, frameworks, and risk-based testing strategies aligned with financial business models.
  • Manage onshore/offshore testing resources, coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and track functional milestones.
  • Validate complex financial workflows such as order entry, trade capture, position management, pricing calculations, and downstream post-trade clearing/settlement.
  • Drive the creation of automated test scripts and frameworks (using Python, Java, or specialized QA tools) to streamline regression testing.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Dev Leads to review defect metrics and sign off on release readiness.

Required Skills:
  • 5 to 10+ years in investment banking, capital markets, or wealth management, with a deep grasp of front-, middle-, or back-office flows.
  • Proficiency in SQL for backend data verification, API testing tools (Postman, REST), and automated test frameworks.
  • Strong track record in test case design, traceability matrix management, defect lifecycle tracking (JIRA), and CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or equivalent; exceptional cross-team communication and leadership capabilities.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Xray, ALM, or similar quality management platforms.
  • Clear understanding of Agile testing life cycles, behavior-driven development (BDD with Cucumber/Gherkin), and CI/CD quality gates.
