Job description

The Advancement & Development Coordinator is responsible for all fundraising and advancement activities, including annual giving, capital campaigns and fundraising for operational support. They report to the School Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
  • Capital Campaigns - Planning, organizing, and executing a capital campaign to support the school's facility development plan.
  • Annual Giving - Planning, organizing, and executing annual fundraising to support near-term needs.
  • Donor Development - Cultivating and following up on relationships with potential donors to ensure ongoing relationships.
  • Communications Management - Overseeing communications, including social media, earned media, and other communications related to advancement.
  • Data Management - Organizing, building, and maintaining data systems to support advancement efforts.
  • Grant Applications - Researching, identifying, and pursuing grant and foundation funding opportunities.
  • Community Support - Engaging trustees and other community members in fundraising activities.
  • Coordination - Working closely with the Leadership Team to ensure smooth workflows within the life of the school.
  • Presence - Working on site as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong technology skills and fluency with Google workplace tools, spreadsheets, databases, email, and other communications software.
  • Familiarity with grant maker databases such as candid.org.
  • Strong experience with social media and working with the communications outlets such as news sites, community-based journalism, and other news sources.
  • Experience with fundraising, donor development, grants, or advancement work.
  • Experience with schools, nonprofits, sustainability, environmental education, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Builder mindset.
  • Strategic and practical.
  • Comfortable balancing systems, operations, and mission-centered work.

Terms
This is a full time, 12-month position (40 hours per week with some additional time for evening or weekend events), requiring time on site as scheduled with the School Leadership Team, as well as the ability to work from home.
Salary Range
$60,000 - $75,000
