Job Summary:

This is a key position that provides friendly and efficient customer service and shampoo functions to all hair service clients, as well as provides laundry and cleaning support to the location.


Essential Functions:

· Greets and welcomes client upon arrival to shampoo area with proper personal introduction.

· Assess client shampoo and conditioning needs based on hair stylist recommendation and/or hair type.

· Informs client of specific shampoo, conditioner and treatment products along with general product knowledge.

· Makes client comfortable in shampoo chair.

· Uses towels to ensure client remains dry.

· Determines comfortable water temperature.

· Performs shampoo, scalp massage and color rinse services using current protocols.

· Sanitizes shampoo bowls between clients following current protocols.

· Applies hair treatments and hot towel treatments as directed by the hair stylist.

· Sweeps hair in department and maintains overall neatness of shampoo area, color area and hair department.

· Performs laundry of all salon towels, capes, smocks, spa towels, robes and linens to meet demand of operation.

· Handles customer’s questions and directs them to appropriate staff personnel.

· Interacts with staff in a professional manner, assisting hair departments as needed.

· Ensures that all clean-up duties are completed prior to opening and/or closing and whenever necessary.

· Maintains a professional neat and clean appearance according to About Faces standards and dress code.


Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:

-Attentive to Cleanliness in the salon.

-Ability to effectively communicate.

-Detail-oriented.

-Friendly and organized.


Requirements:

· Prior spa/salon experience helpful but not required.

· Customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.

· Ability to be flexible with scheduling (days, weekends, holidays).

· Work additional hours (within reason) during peak seasons and when requested.
