Inpatient OB/GYN Hospitalist

Cape Fear Valley Health - Fayetteville, North Carolina

Join a Growing Women's Services Team

Cape Fear Valley Health is seeking a dedicated OB/GYN Hospitalist to join our expanding inpatient women's services program in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This opportunity offers a collaborative physician-led care model with strong advanced practice provider support, high-volume obstetrical services, and access to comprehensive maternal-fetal and neonatal resources within a growing regional healthcare system.

This position is ideal for physicians seeking a hospital-based practice focused on labor and delivery coverage, inpatient obstetrics and gynecology care, and collaborative team-based medicine.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy degree required

  • Completion of an accredited OB/GYN Residency program

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology

  • Board Certification required within established eligibility window

  • Eligible for or licensed to practice medicine in North Carolina

  • Willingness to obtain North Carolina licensure if currently out of state

Responsibilities

The OB/GYN Hospitalist will provide comprehensive inpatient obstetrical and gynecologic care, including:

  • Provide labor and delivery coverage and inpatient obstetrical management

  • Evaluate and manage obstetrical triage patients and inpatient gynecologic consultations

  • Perform vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and emergency obstetrical procedures as needed

  • Manage obstetrical emergencies and collaborate closely with anesthesia, neonatal, nursing, and surgical teams

  • Provide postpartum and inpatient gynecologic care

  • Assist with surgical backup and emergent gynecologic procedures when indicated

  • Collaborate effectively with community OB/GYN physicians and outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the Epic electronic medical record

  • Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans and care coordination

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and evidence-based practice initiatives

  • Support patient experience initiatives and service excellence standards
