Description:

The DC Capacity Planning Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing storage utilization across our warehouse network. This position is responsible for analyzing current inventory levels, forecasting future receipts, and developing data-driven strategies to maximize space efficiency and support operational performance.
This role partners closely with warehouse operations, supply chain, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate capacity planning, proactive issue identification, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Qlik), along with a practical, solutions-oriented approach.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and enhance reports, models, and dashboards to drive visibility and support operational decision-making
  • Analyze current inventory levels and movement, storage utilization, and space requirements to identify optimization opportunities
  • Recommend and support warehouse space optimization initiatives including racking modifications, consolidation opportunities, and inventory re-slotting
  • Evaluate inbound shipments and future receipts to ensure adequate storage capacity and timely putaway execution
  • Recommend inventory transfers between distribution centers to balance capacity and improve network efficiency
  • Proactively communicate risks, constraints, and actionable solutions to operational and supply chain leadership
  • Partner with DC operations to support space planning execution, including location configuration, label generation, and system updates that enable accurate inventory placement and optimal space utilization 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on space utilization, inventory accuracy, and process efficiency
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as assigned 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Excel including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data modeling; experience with BI tools such as Qlik preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable recommendations
  • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations, with solid knowledge of inventory placement, storage strategies, and warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with a high level of ownership, accountability, and integrity 
  • Role requires ~15% travel, including out-of-state travel
