Job description

Position Summary:Production Planner is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the production plan/schedule, line capacity analysis, daily production line schedules, and plant capacities.Accountable for maintaining finished goods safety levels in accordance with customer forecast order demand.Interfaces daily with Materials Manager, Master Planner, Raw and Dry Materials Purchasers, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Shipping/Receiving, Transportation, and Quality Department to ensure that department and company goals, including order fill, on-time shipping departure, manufacturing efficiencies, safety, Dump and Donate, and other cost reduction initiatives are achieved.Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications/Skills:Scheduling coordination skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with emphasis on production planning and multiple production line scheduling.Must possess demonstrated analytical abilities and be able to develop logical solutions to opportunities as they develop.Ability to maintain focus and direction in a fast-paced environment dealing with high raw and finished goods turns.Must be a proven team player that utilizes coaching and company values to meet and exceed company expectations.Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and MRP Skills.Good verbal and written communication skills.Must be available days, nights, and weekends with Saturday being a regular workday.Other Desired Qualifications:Experience in a food related manufacturing environment with emphasis on production planning and line scheduling preferred.Experience in Process Improvement teams as a leader or a member.AS400 experience.Course work in scheduling, inventory, demand management, and closely related fields.Experience:2-4 years' experience in a similar manufacturing environment.Education/Training:Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required.APICS, CPIM, or related equivalent certification.Job Type: Full-time. Physical RequirementsRarely(0-12%)Occasionally(13 – 33%)Frequently(34-66%)Regularly(67-100%)Seeing: Must be able to read reports and use a computer   xHearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with others and talk on the phone  x Standing/Walking x  Climbing/Stooping/Kneelingx   Lifting/Pulling/Pushingx   Fingering/Grasping/FeelingMust be able to write, type, file, turn pages and use phone system   x Working Conditions:General business office environment with open work areas.  Other Information: The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees, and are not to be construed, as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.
