Reports To: Paint Supervisor
EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
  • To aid in maintaining all facilities, entities, and related projects that need painting.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • High School Diploma or GED

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of various aspects of painting and related repairs, including different types of working media and appropriate use thereof
  • Knowledge of the use and care of appropriate equipment
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work orders and scheduling to facilitate that such alterations and repairs are with safety and expedience not to obstruct a minimum of district activities.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Working knowledge of painting and associated skills, with hands on experience.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Applying paint to surfaces including canvas, walls, floors, doors, and cabinets.
  • Maintain, repair, and/or replace all internal and external parts of district facilities which are related to painting
  • Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes.
  • Assist other painters with painting needs related to equipment/projects.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory of needed supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain materials records per facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • None

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:
  • Comprehending simple instructions both written and verbal
  • Writing simple correspondence
  • Reading blue prints / manuals / work orders

Physical demands/environmental factors:
  • Lifting and carrying items in excess of 50 pounds
  • Stooping, bending, kneeling, and standing
  • Vision corrected in order to read labels and do detail work
  • Exposure to weather extremes of hot and cold
  • Exposure to material fumes and particles
  • Moderate to loud noise in work environment
