AA Total Painting is looking for a competitive, hands-on leader to build and manage our door-to-door canvassing team.

This is not a desk-management position. We need someone who can recruit talented people, train them effectively, lead them in the field, and hold the team accountable for producing qualified leads and scheduled estimates.

We’re building a professional canvassing department that creates opportunities for our sales team while developing motivated individuals into confident sales professionals.

Your Mission

Your primary responsibility will be to build, train, manage, and grow a high-performing canvassing team.

You will be responsible for ensuring that canvassers remain productive, follow the company’s process, generate qualified leads, and consistently schedule painting estimates.

Success in this position will be measured by the performance and development of the team you lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, onboard, and develop new canvassers.
• Lead daily team meetings, training sessions, and role-playing exercises.
• Teach canvassers how to approach homeowners confidently.
• Train the team on scripts, qualifying questions, appointment setting, and objection handling.
• Establish daily, weekly, and monthly activity goals.
• Assign neighborhoods and create efficient canvassing routes.
• Lead the team in the field and demonstrate the expected standard.
• Observe canvasser conversations and provide immediate coaching.
• Track doors knocked, homeowner conversations, leads generated, and estimates scheduled.
• Monitor lead quality and appointment completion rates.
• Review daily reports and communicate results to company leadership.
• Keep canvassers motivated, focused, and accountable throughout each shift.
• Identify performance problems and create improvement plans.
• Recognize strong performers and help prepare them for advancement.
• Coordinate with the sales and office teams to ensure appointments are entered accurately.
• Confirm that customer information is complete and properly documented.
• Help maintain a professional, competitive, and positive team culture.
• Continuously improve scripts, training, routes, and overall field performance.

Performance Expectations

The Canvassing Manager will be accountable for:

• Recruiting and retaining dependable canvassers.
• Maintaining consistent team attendance and punctuality.
• Ensuring canvassers remain active and productive in the field.
• Increasing the number of qualified leads generated.
• Increasing the number of painting estimates scheduled.
• Maintaining strong lead quality and appointment accuracy.
• Improving individual and team performance through coaching.
• Providing accurate daily and weekly performance reports.
• Meeting or exceeding established department goals.
• Building a culture of discipline, accountability, growth, and winning.

This role requires someone who can manage both people and numbers. You must be able to motivate the team while also addressing performance issues directly.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in canvassing, door-to-door sales, field marketing, or team leadership is strongly preferred.
• Experience recruiting, training, or managing performance-based teams is a plus.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Confidence speaking with homeowners and coaching employees in the field.
• Ability to track and understand performance metrics.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the department.
• Willingness to work outdoors and walk for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to commute throughout Riverview and the Tampa Bay area.
• Ability to pass a background check.
