Job description

The Retail Technical Training Coordinator delivers technical training programs for automotive technicians across Goodyear Retail, using in-person, virtual, and hands-on methods. It focuses on building expertise in diagnostics, repair, safety, and emerging vehicle technologies (ADAS, EV/HEV). The position combines classroom facilitation with in-shop coaching to improve technician performance and repair quality. It also manages training compliance, certification tracking, and alignment with OEM and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role partners with cross-functional teams to develop curriculum and continuously improve technical capability across the network.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver technical training (in-person, virtual, and hands-on) across automotive systems and emerging technologies.

  • Coach technicians in-store, conduct skill gap analyses, and improve diagnostics, productivity, and repair quality.

  • Develop and facilitate training programs, including ASE and internal certification preparation.

  • Track training records, certifications, and effectiveness using LMS while ensuring compliance with standards.

  • Partner with internal teams to design curriculum, training materials, and technical content.

  • Support new product, tool, and technology launches through structured training and field enablement.

What We Are Looking For

  • Associate's degree in automotive technology or related field required; equivalent experience (minimum 8 years) considered in lieu of a degree, along with Master ASE Automotive Technician certification (including L1) and additional ASE certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on diagnostic and repair experience, with exposure to automotive retail, dealership, OEM, fleet, or supplier environments.
  • Advanced mechanical and diagnostic expertise across major vehicle systems, including strong knowledge of diagnostic strategies, tools, and service systems.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and analytical skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts, identify skill gaps, and operate independently in a field-based environment.
  • Must reside within the assigned territory and be able to travel 75-80% including overnight, with the ability to perform hands-on demonstrations, meet physical requirements, and maintain a valid driver's license.
