Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with a focus on High-Risk Breast Cancer is an essential member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, providing clinical and administrative support to individuals at increased risk for breast cancer. The CMA assists with patient intake, coordinates appointments and follow-up, performs vital signs and specimen collection, and supports patient education on hereditary risk and cancer prevention. Minnesota Women's Care is a private, patient-focused practice offering personalized, state-of-the-art medical care in a welcoming and supportive environment. This position offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with high-risk patients, collaborate with nurses, advanced practice providers, and physicians, and play a key role in advancing hereditary breast cancer prevention and early detection in our community. Key Clinical Responsibilities
* Welcome and intake high-risk breast cancer patients. Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and risk factors. ? Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and patients; assist providers as needed.
* Maintain infection control and safety standards; keep exam rooms clean and well-stocked.
* Communicate with patients about concerns. Collect information and relay it to the provider professionally and efficiently, while ensuring quality control measures are in place.
* Coordinate and schedule imaging, referrals, and follow-ups.
* Perform phlebotomy and basic procedures as ordered.
* Accurately document all clinical and administrative tasks in the electronic health record.
* Provide patients, families, and the care team with education, clear instructions, and resources on hereditary breast cancer risk and prevention.
* Complete administrative duties, including prescription processing, forms, records, and billing.
* Participate in team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and provide support to other multidisciplinary care teams as needed.
* Obtain and document patient data accurately and promptly.
* Prepare and assist patients with exams, tests, and procedures as needed.
* Provide patients with instructions for preparing for specific procedures and tests, as appropriate.
* Process prescriptions as directed by the provider.
* Complete FMLA paperwork and produce any work, school, and insurance letters for patients as requested.
* Obtain records and ROIs for patients transferring to MNWC for care. Call referring clinics for urgent requests.
* Fax urgent records as requested.
* Completes care team calls promptly and assist with other care teams as needed.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
* Minimum 1-2 years of experience working as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or in a similar clinical support role preferred, ideally in women's health, oncology, or genetics focused settings.
* Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
* Current Medical Assistant certification and current CPR/BLS certification.
* Demonstrated ability to understand and follow established policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, and administrative staff in a busy and complex environment, demonstrating tact, professionalism, and excellent interpersonal skills.
* Strong documentation skills.
* Commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and maintaining the highest standards of professional practice.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain clinical instructions and provide support to patients and families.
* Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
* Good judgment with the ability to recognize urgent situations and escalate concerns appropriately.
* Flexible, solutions-oriented team player with adaptability to changing clinical needs.
* Work is performed in a medical office setting using standard medical equipment.
* The risk of exposure to blood and body fluids is present.
