Job description

The Division of Clinical Science at the Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking physician scientists to expand translational research. The successful candidate will continue his/her own independent research in the field of cancer. Candidates must have clinical expertise and training in medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, or pathology. Candidates will join tumor specific Departments based on their research and clinical interests and will participate in patient care and facilitate interdisciplinary team science. It is anticipated that the candidate will work closely with their Department Chair to facilitate the development of clinical trials or translational research studies that capitalize on Moffitt expertise in precision medicine, immune and cellular therapy, and evolution of cancer development and resistance. Candidates will become members of one of the five major CCSG Research Programs -Molecular Medicine, Tumor Immunology, Cancer Biology and Evolution, Cancer Epidemiology, and Health Outcomes & Behavior. In addition, four Centers of Excellence in Lung Cancer, Skin Cancer, Evolutionary Therapy, and Immunization &Infection Research in Cancer support transdisciplinary research and infrastructure. The position will be supported by 1) generous start-up package; 2) access to existing tissue and data resources; 3) numerous, collaborative and supportive faculty; 4) large patient volumes to support research; 5) outstanding shared resources that provide state of the art technology, as well as data science expertise.
Qualifications:
Education/Licensure:
  • MD +/- PhD Degree
  • Board certified (or eligible) in Hematology/Oncology
  • Florida Medical License
  • DEA License
  • ACLS as required by privileges granted through Medical Staff
