Job description

The Department of Surgery at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine and the University of Vermont Medical Center announce a search for a breast surgeon to join the Division of Surgical Oncology. The ideal candidate will have completed or will soon complete an SSO approved fellowship in Breast surgery or complex general surgical oncology. This person will be involved in the clinical care of breast patients at University of Vermont Medical Center and affiliate network sites. The candidate will also be a member of the University of Vermont Cancer Center. The candidate will be expected to be active in research activities, either clinical, translational or both and to have a teaching role for medical students and surgical residents.

This is a full-time, 12-month salaried faculty appointment in the Clinical Scholar Pathway at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor and carries with it attending staff privileges at University of Vermont Medical Center as part of University of Vermont Health Medical Group. Salary is competitive and commensurate with ability and experience.

Located in Burlington, the University of Vermont and the University of Vermont Health Medical Group as Vermont's only academic medical center. It is the only ACS verified Level 1 trauma center in the state and provides tertiary care to patients from Vermont and Northern New York.
