Job description

The Key Account Sales Executive works with multi-location mainstream food service or mainstream retail clients selling Wismettac’s new and diverse food products. You will develop an understanding of the client’s needs, and educate them on Wismettac’s products and services to ensure the company achieves its ambitious sales growth aspirations. This role will be responsible for developing sales in the designated target market by identifying new sales opportunities by contacting prospective customers by cold calling, premise visits, networking, lead generation, proposal submission, and customer follow-up to establish future growth potential for new business and concentrate on expanding the gross profit for the team.

  • Identifying and developing potential clients through cold calling prospects, networking, working with our extensive existing database, and utilizing various leads.
  • Developing new clients while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients and following up with key decision-makers.
  • Assist in evaluating territory performance against established objectives/ guidelines (sale forecast, budget, number of new accounts, gross margin, etc.) and take appropriate action to improve performance.
  • Travel to customers and potential customers’ facilities providing them with information and support as required to secure and maintain business.
  • Understand and execute the sales plan and price adjustments based on management’s instructions.
  • Provide an accurate forecast of sales by customer and product on a timely basis.
  • Create, manage, and drive to sales acceptance, all inbound and outbound leads.
  • Collaborate with the branch sales team, and other sales divisions to leverage new account development for the branch office.
  • Assist with customer/ product development by collaborating with internal teams (Sales HQ, PMD, and PSSD) to provide the best solution to the customer to optimize the demand generation/creation effectiveness of the product line.
  • Actively participates in new business development planning sessions by consulting within a team-based work environment to ensure the identification of quality opportunities.
  • Responds to complaints from assigned customers and coordinate solutions through operations. Provides excellent customer service by communicating back to the customers with positive responses.
  • Relay market needs and requirements back to internal divisions, including management, operations, and logistics teams.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, information, or feedback gathering through field activity to appropriate company staff.
  • Cooperate with the accounting department to ensure the collection of accounts receivable due.
  • Provide timely reporting of activities in the field to assist in business and product planning.
  • Submits sales activity reports and other reports as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience/ Training/ Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, or related field.
  • 3 years of related sales with mainstream food industry experience.
  • Experience utilizing a computer, including familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Oracle ERP software.
  • Must have a valid US driver’s license (Canada driver’s license for Canadian positions)

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services, including but not limited to creating sales strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Knowledge of Asian Food products.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Oracle ERP software
  • Multitask and keep projects progressing simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and conversation skills.
  • Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with the sales staff, management, and clients.

Working Conditions:

Sales have large territories and travel considerably. May be away from home for several days or weeks at a time. Others work near their home base and travel mostly by car. Because of the nature of the work and the amount of travel, the incumbent will work more than 40 hours per week. Sales employees often are on their feet for long periods and may carry heavy sample products (up to 50 pounds), necessitating some physical stamina. Dealing with different types of people can be stimulating but demanding. Sales employees often face competition from other companies. Companies usually set goals or quotas that associates are expected to meet. Sales employees are also under the added pressure to maintain and expand their clientele. Travel will be involved. For example, attendance at meetings visiting branch offices, or visiting client facilities.
