Role Impact
Reporting to the VP Global Manufacturing, this key regional leadership role is responsible for the overall manufacturing operations across supported chemical manufacturing sites, including Springfield, OR, Missoula MT, Sheboygan, WI & Edmonton, Canada.
You will be accountable for driving robust regional performance with a strong focus on EHS, customer service, people development, productivity, operational excellence, and disciplined compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements. This role requires a hands-on change leader who communicates clearly, builds trust across sites and functions, and engages teams to continually make tomorrow better than today.

What You Will Do
Lead Safe & Compliant Operations
  • Model safety excellence and ensure site activities are executed to meet EHS objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Strengthen process safety discipline and ensure compliance with corporate standards, PSM expectations, and applicable regulations.
  • Ensure risk is actively identified, escalated, and managed so customer deliveries are not interrupted by reliability, capability, compliance, or supply-related issues.
  • Reinforce strong operating discipline, housekeeping, and accountability across the regional manufacturing organization.

Drive Regional Manufacturing Performance
  • Lead regional manufacturing execution across safety, quality, delivery, cost/cash, innovation, and people-related KPIs.
  • Analyze regional operational data to identify gaps, define priorities, and improve overall manufacturing effectiveness.
  • Drive standardization and process optimization strategies that maximize asset reliability and utilization while minimizing conversion costs.
  • Partner with site and functional leaders to ensure customer and quality expectations are consistently met or exceeded.

Build & Develop a High-Performing Regional Organization
  • Assess, select, upgrade, develop, train, and mentor site and regional manufacturing leaders.
  • Set clear expectations for safety, execution discipline, accountability, and leadership behaviors.
  • Build organizational capability through coaching, talent development, and consistent operating routines.
  • Create an engaged, collaborative, and results-oriented culture across multiple sites.

Advance Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive operational excellence using tools such as 5S, Lean, Gemba, Leader Standard Work, visual management, and data-driven problem solving.
  • Translate improvement opportunities into measurable actions that improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Participate in the discovery, review, and implementation of new manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Serve as a communication channel to share best practices across sites and functions.

Own Planning, Capital & Productivity Execution
  • Contribute to short-term and long-term planning processes for the region.
  • Deliver annual operating goals related to expenses, capital, and Hexion Next / transformational productivity targets.
  • Work closely with engineering to monitor planning and execution of capital projects and manufacturing improvements.
  • Balance competing business priorities while maintaining disciplined execution and clear stakeholder communication.

Manage Reliability, Risk & Business Continuity
  • Minimize unplanned events through disciplined preventive and predictive maintenance processes.
  • Ensure sites maintain appropriate reliability, capability, and compliance controls to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Use structured problem solving to address operational risk, recurring issues, and performance gaps.
  • Partner across supply chain, engineering, customer service, quality, and EHS to resolve issues and strengthen end-to-end execution.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in the chemical industry, with focused experience in a process chemical manufacturing environment.
  • 10+ years of plant or operations leadership experience managing direct reports, including 5+ years leading organizations with multiple reporting levels.
  • Experience operating in a regional or multi-site manufacturing structure.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and sites with strong safety performance and mature safety processes.
  • Extensive experience with Process Safety Management and regulatory compliance in chemical manufacturing environments.
  • Lean manufacturing / operational excellence experience with demonstrated positive value creation through gained efficiencies.
  • Strong analytical capability, including experience applying data and financial insight to operational decisions.
  • Effective communication, influence, and conflict resolution skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, logistics, and distribution.
  • 4-year degree or equivalent applicable experience required; technical background preferred.
  • Ability to travel approximately 60%.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with multi-mode delivery to customers, including truck, rail, and pipeline.
Experience managing large-scale complex projects; capital project management experience preferred.
Proven success driving organizational change and business process improvements.
Experience transforming cultures and implementing continuous improvement and operational excellence across multiple sites.
Strong business acumen and demonstrated delivery of sustainable operating and financial results.
