Welcome to The HOUSEpitality Family! We are the restaurant group who owns and operates all Boathouse, Casa del Barco, Island Shrimp Co., and Can Can Brasserie locations in and around Richmond, VA.

Our Guests come to us to Celebrate Life one bit at a time with great views, unique character, and delicious food! We are looking for passionate professionals that want to provide exceptional service while having fun and making money. Flexible in-store training. PTO accrual starts on day one!

The Support role encompasses the responsibilities of food runner/busser OR barback. Food runners/bussers contributes to an enjoyable dining experience by quickly and accurately delivering orders from the kitchen to the customer. They are also expected to clean and set tables for future customers or ensuring the bar is set up for success while bringing a positive energy and a team player mindset Barbacks help the bar run smoothly by stocking liquors, refilling garnishes, stocking glassware and filling/empty the dishwasher, as well as communicating with customers as needed.

Position Expectations:

  • Good communication skills; engaging with internal and external guests
  • Act as a contact point between Front of House and Back of House staff
  • Food Runner/Busser - Responsible for setting tables, serving food, and removing used dishes and utensils
  • Barback - Responsible for ensuring the bar is setup for success
  • Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (i.e. proper temperature, etc.)
  • Remove dirty dishes and utensils as needed
  • Inform Servers and/or Bartenders if a customer has feedback or any requests
  • Clean and reset tables or bar upon customers departure
  • Helping and supporting other positions in the restaurant as needed
  • Provide great customer service
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • An individual in a Food Runner/Busser role must be at least 16

  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be willing to work some weekends and holidays
