Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose
The Athletics Department provides a dynamic environment where passionate professionals come to make an impact. The Recruiting Division for Football plays a uniquely important role in the success of Appalachian State University's Football program. The unit assists the football program with player acquisition and roster management.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of the NCAA rules and regulations related to recruiting and working with student-athletes
  • Exceptional interpersonal and counseling skills
  • Experience with recruiting student-athletes
  • Experience working within an NCAA FBS football program
License/Certification Required Preferred Qualifications Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Associate Director of On-Campus Recruiting assists the Head Football Coach and Director of On-Campus Recruiting with the planning of official and unofficial visits, coordinating recruiting events, and handling daily administrative and operational tasks within the football program.
Some of the responsibilities are:
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of recruiting visits and events.
  • Oversee the preparation and organization of all physical materials for recruiting visits and events.
  • Assist with coordinating vendors for recruiting visits and events.
  • Assist with keeping the Recruiting Operations Calendar up to date.
  • Oversee the Recruiting Operations Internship Program.
  • Track, organize, and manage all recruiting-related receipts and financial documentation for accurate reconciliation and budget tracking.
  • Complete post-official visit paperwork required for NCAA compliance, including submission of receipts, itineraries, and verification forms to the Compliance Office.
  • Plan and manage all travel arrangements for coaching staff during recruiting trips.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of all recruiting visit/event supplies, ensuring materials are stocked, organized, and available for events, visits, and daily operations.
  • Assist with High School Relations.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.
