This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Atlantic Fields, set outside of Hobe Sound, FL.
Atlantic Fields is seeking a Recreation Attendant (internally known as an Outdoor Pursuits Attendant) to join the Outdoor Pursuits Department.
The Outdoor Pursuits Attendant ensures the highest level of service is offered to members by providing personal and professional support throughout the property across all outdoor activities. This is a hands-on role that supports the setup, execution, and safety of OP programming, with active participation encouraged across all activities on property. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities

Support Outdoor Pursuits Guides and management in the setup, execution, and breakdown of all Outdoor activities and member excursions, including fishing, watersports, racquet sports, archery, axe throwing, and other on-property programming

Instruct and participate in outoor activities with all members and prospects to include but not limited to archery, axe throwing, equestrian operations, fishing and racquet sports.

Assist members and guests with equipment handling, water entry/exit, and general safety in and around the pools, beach, and on-water activity areas

Carry out weekly safety checks on the powerboat fleet and other outdoor equipment, ensuring adherence to SOP guidelines

Maintain all equipment - rods, reels, tackle, surfboards, vessels, and watersports gear - in clean, safe, and guest-ready condition through routine inspections and upkeep

Help implement monthly stock takes and inventories of all parts, tools, and equipment for the department as directed by Management

Greet members, assist with seating, and manage chairs, umbrellas, and towel/suntan lotion stations at the pool

Participate in and encourage member engagement in activities and games throughout the property

Accompany and supervise participants to both on and off-site events and safely transport them in a company vehicle.

Partner with Management to enhance Outdoor Pursuits offerings during club and family events.

Participate in overnight camping experiences on property as requested.

Complete daily set-up/breakdown of department activities per department SOP

Attend morning briefings, end-of-day shutdown, and staff meetings, communicating effectively with supervisors and management

Keep a detailed inventory of all Outdoor Pursuits equipment to include pre -use, weekly and monthly checks on club assets

Serve as a brand ambassador for the Outdoor Pursuits department, consistently reflecting the club's standard of hospitality and member engagement, on and off property

Maintain facilities and equipment in a clean, safe, and secure manner

Any other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

Previous experience in the guest service or hospitality industry preferred

Exposure to one or more outdoor recreation disciplines such as fishing, surfing, paddleboarding, or watersports a plus

CPR, First Aid, and lifeguard certification preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire

Boat operator experience a plus

Flexible availability including early mornings, weekends, and holidays based on programming and member demand

Additional Requirements

Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members

Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands

Ability to work in a team environment

Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred

Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds
