Serve as a liaison between park guests and visitors and park staff, especially after normal operating hours.

Maintain campground cleanliness by picking up litter, cleaning campsites, and performing minor repairs and upkeep.
Bring your own camper or RV to this unique opportunity to serve as the Campground Host at the Lake Reidsville Campground. In exchange for host duties, you will be provided a campsite in the campground, which includes free water, sewer, electrical and Wi-Fi. You will also be provided with a City-owned golf cart to assist you with the required tasks of this position.
Please note that there are weekend and holiday expectations related to this position, and you should expect to work most weekends and all holidays. You may be given priority ranking for any Camp Store vacancies that occur in the future, if you are interested in part-time wages. General Duties of the Host: The primary responsibility of the Host is to serve as a liaison between park guests and visitors, and the park staff, particularly after normal operating hours for the camp store.
The Host should have the ability to resolve and respond to issues after normal hours of operation and on the weekends. Customer Service - As a representative of the Lake Reidsville Campground, the Host will extend polite and informative customer service to park guests and visitors, and serve as a role model for campground conduct. The Host will greet and introduce themselves to new arrivals in the campground, and maintain a clean and orderly camp site.
The Host will distribute maps, copies of park rules and regulations, and brochures about Lake Reidsville and local State Parks. The Host may assist campers in locating a vacant campsite. Housekeeping - The Host will practice good housekeeping of their designated camping slot.
Local Attractions and Events - The Host should remain familiar with local points of interest and the location of services that might be requested by campers such as towing, groceries, churches, tourist attractions and local events. Public Relations and Education - The Host may contribute to educational activities and special events as deemed appropriate by the Representative, or their designee. The Host may assist campers with setup, when appropriate.
The Host should provide visitors and guests with information on park programs and special events, when appropriate. Bathhouse - bathhouse cleanliness is not the primary responsibility of the Host. During the week, regular Parks and Recreation staff shall be responsible for cleaning and stocking the bathrooms and the bathhouse.
On the weekends, the Host is limited to minor upkeep, restocking, and sanitation roles in the bathhouse. These duties may include monitoring the state of supplies (i.e. toilet paper, soap, and towels), contributing to the general tidiness of the facility, emptying the trash containers, and reporting maintenance needs to park staff
Campground Cleanliness - The Host will maintain the campground by picking up litter, cleaning campsites, removing logs and ashes from campfire ring, tidying up bathhouses, replenishing restroom supplies, and performing minor repairs. On-call Status - The specific nature of the Host's on-call status will be determined through cooperation between the Host and Park staff. Parking Control - The Host will notify campers and their guests and visitors of the parking policy within the campground.

If visitors and guest fail to comply with the guidelines, the Host may notify the Reidsville Police Department for assistance in addressing the parking issues. Conflict Resolution - While the host may monitor the campground for disturbances and conflict between parties of guests, it is not the primary responsibility of the Host to finally resolve these disturbances, or to enforce quiet hours within the campground. The Host will be provided with instructions about how to get in touch with park law enforcement to carry out the direct enforcement of park policies
Contact park staff and/or other law enforcement personnel when emergencies or activities within the park warrant. The Host is not to participate in any high-risk activity, including direct confrontation with visitors and guests. The Host shall not undertake any law enforcement action under any circumstances.
The Host should report after hours disturbances to the Representative on the next business day. Expectation of Accessibility - The Host is expected to work most weekends and ALL holidays during the term of this agreement. The Host is expected to be on duty and available to park visitors and guests after regular business hours.
Protection and Preservation of Lake Reidsville Campground and Park - The Host shall remain observant of situations which require immediate attention, such as a tree that needs to be trimmed or removed; or troublesome campers. If the Host is unable to resolve the issue(s) independently, they should have access to a list of contacts to reach out to for support and solutions. The Host should use good judgement as to which issues should be resolved as soon as possible, and which can wait until normal operating hours to resolve.
Firewood Collection and Vending - The Host selling firewood bundles to visitors and guests after regular business hours. Fees collected through the sale of firewood shall be submitted to the Camp Store Clerk on the next business day. Should the supply of firewood bundles run low, the Host should notify the park maintenance staff or the camp store staff.
Operation of equipment - The Host shall not be required to operate machinery including but not limited to lawn mowers, weed-whackers and chain-saws. All other duties - All other Host duties are defined by the Park Staff and the Volunteer Host based upon Park requirements and Host ambitions provided they do not conflict with items 1 - 6 of the Volunteer Host Program Basic Duties. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to interact with a wide variety of people and to maintain professional relationships with them.
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to maintain positive outlook when confronted by guests and/or visitors who are dissatisfied. Ability to walk throughout the campground. Ability to adapt to changing work conditions.
Knowledgeable about Lake Reidsville, the Lake Reidsville Park and Campground, as well as surrounding area and points of interest. Benefits: Use of a designated campsite at Lake Reidsville Campground at no cost. All standard utilities (water, sewer and electricity) provided at no cost to the Host.
The Host will be provided a golf cart or similar equipment to assist them in completing their assigned tasks. Maintenance, repair and upkeep of this equipment will be the joint responsibility of the Host and the City. The role of Campground Host is an uncompensated position.
The benefit of the use of a campsite, and all the amenities associated with that site are provided to the Host in exchange for weekend and after-hours availability of the Host to other visitors, guests, and campers. Working Conditions: The work of the Host is primarily outside, and is subject to a variety of weather conditions, including extremes in temperature, heavy rain, high humidity and windy conditions. The Host is required to reside onsite at the campground.
The Host will provide their own RV or travel trailer. A Host cannot reside in a tent. The Host will reside in Site #6, unless requested by the Representative to relocate to a different Site.
