Job description

State Coordinated Campaigns Organizing Director
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) regularly assists campaigns and state parties by collecting applications for roles involved in Senate races. If you are interested in an Organizing Director role for the 2026 election cycle, please submit your resume by uploading it below. Please note that these roles will be based in Senate battleground states.
By submitting your resume and personal information, you agree that DSCC may share your resume and personal information with Democratic organizations including Senate campaigns and state parties for their use in campaign activities or special projects. Note: Any potential roles are with state parties or campaigns, not the DSCC. Campaigns and parties are responsible for all hiring decisions for campaign and party positions, and will determine salary and specific job duties.
About the Opportunity
Organizing Directors will be critical to developing and implementing volunteer recruitment and voter contact programs that win close elections. They will hire, develop, and manage Organizing teams on state coordinated campaigns. Organizing Directors should be resilient leaders and creative thinkers who can hold themselves and teams accountable to ambitious goals. Organizing Directors will be senior-level staff on the coordinated campaign and will work closely with other departments to implement programming to elect Democrats up and down the ballot.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the coordinated campaign’s statewide organizing program, including programs related to staff development, volunteer recruitment, and voter contact
  • Hire and oversee all Organizing department staff, including Deputy Organizing Directors, Regional Organizing Directors, and Organizers
  • Create systems and communications structures that provide clear direction and motivate teams to achieve ambitious volunteer and voter contact goals in difficult circumstances
  • Oversee a training program that boosts staff productivity and develops volunteers’ skills
  • Collaborate with Data, Operations, and Voter Access departments
Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
  • At least 3+ cycles of organizing experience, with a strong preference for at least 2 cycles of experience in either a Deputy or Director role on a statewide electoral organizing program
  • Experience managing staff through multiple layers, including unionized staff, is required
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; especially as applied to building a strong, inclusive management culture that supports staff development
  • Proven fluency with VAN and other organizing tools
  • Attention to detail, highly-developed organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of our organization
