Senior Media Specialist, Paid Social

Monks

Seattle, WA

Full-time

Job description

Our team:

The Media Transformation team helps clients navigate what's next in media. Rather than operating as a traditional media buying team, we pair hands-on platform execution with operational strategy, consulting, and emerging technology, helping brands modernize how media is planned, activated, measured, and optimized. Campaign execution is still at the core of what we do, but we go further: constantly testing new capabilities, from AI-powered workflows to emerging platform features, and turning what we learn into practical systems that help clients work smarter and move faster.

What You'll Do:Own campaign activation from start to finish
  • Build, launch, QA, and optimize paid social campaigns across multiple platforms.
  • Monitor pacing, delivery, performance, and budgets - troubleshooting issues before they impact results.
  • Drive optimizations through structured testing, not just toggling budgets, and prioritize work based on business impact rather than urgency alone.
  • Own client communications through regular meetings, performance reporting, and strategic presentations.
Turn insights into action
  • Analyze campaign performance to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and translate platform data into recommendations clients can understand and act on.
  • Design tests with clear hypotheses, document learnings, and use insights to evolve campaign strategy.
Improve how the work gets done
  • Identify opportunities to simplify workflows and increase operational efficiency.
  • Champion adoption of new platform capabilities, automation, AI tools, and best practices.
  • Create scalable documentation and repeatable frameworks that serve as trusted resources across the team.
Build trusted client relationships
  • Serve as a day-to-day strategic partner, helping clients understand not just what you're recommending but why it matters.
  • Adapt communication style across audiences, from activation teams to senior stakeholders.
Help elevate the team
  • Mentor junior teammates through coaching and feedback.
  • Share new ideas, platform updates, and experimentation results to strengthen the team's collective expertise.
What Success Looks Like

Success in this role isn't measured by the number of campaigns you launch,  it's measured by the impact you create. You proactively identify opportunities before clients ask, continuously improve performance over maintaining the status quo, and help clients adopt better ways of working over time.

The strongest performers don't wait for direction. They see opportunities others miss, know that creating impact isn't the same as staying busy, and leave clients, teammates, and campaigns stronger than they found them.

About YouWe're Looking For Someone Who:
  • Has 5+ years managing paid social campaigns with hands-on experience managing $500K+ monthly budgets across at least 2 platforms (e.g., Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Reddit).
  • Understands how media, creative, audiences, and measurement work together - and the difference between improving platform metrics and improving business outcomes.
  • Navigates ambiguity and makes informed decisions without having all the answers.
  • Has a track record of improving processes and can explain complex platform decisions to both practitioners and executives.
  • Prioritizes competing priorities while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Enjoys mentoring others and is driven by curiosity, actively learning about emerging platform capabilities, AI, automation, and industry trends.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working across all paid social platforms.
  • Familiarity with social measurement, attribution, and incrementality.
  • Experience partnering with creative teams on testing strategies.
  • Experience implementing automation or AI-enabled workflows.
  • Experience working with enterprise clients or large-scale media programs.

What It's Like to Work Here

We believe great work comes from great teams. We're collaborative by default, generous with our knowledge, and genuinely invested in one another's success - asking questions, sharing ideas, and helping teammates grow is just how we work. We're intentional about staying connected as a distributed team: an annual summit, monthly department meetings, and local meetups and happy hours.

Your growth matters here too. Whether you're leading an internal initiative, mentoring teammates, or exploring emerging technologies, you'll have leaders invested in helping you build the career you want. We're serious about delivering exceptional work, but we don't believe work has to be serious all the time.

At Monks, we believe in fostering an environment where a diversity of perspectives can thrive. We proactively work to design hiring processes that promote equity and inclusion while mitigating bias. We celebrate diversity and are committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve. We welcome and encourage qualified applicants, from all backgrounds, who are excited to contribute to our mission.
