Description
General Description:
The Camp Assistant performs various tasks to provide a safe, fun, nurturing, and enriching camp experience for the summer camper. The Camp Assistant will assist the Camp Instructor with supervising the campers, planning and organizing activities, and guiding their summer camp participants through the daily engaging activities.
Examples of Duties
Essential Job Duties:
1. Assume responsibility for the safety of campers.
2. Be familiar with risk management and emergency action plans.
3. Enact risk management and emergency action plans as necessary.
4. Log incident/accident reports as required.
5. Document the first aid administered during the Camp program.
6. Know where campers are at all times.
7. Follow Camp objectives, policies and procedures, and guidelines.
8. Serve as a positive role model and mentor.
9. Show a genuine interest in campers.
10. Organize, lead, and assist in various group activities each week.
11. Maintain, clean, and organize program equipment as assigned.
12. Identify and respond to camper behavior issues.
13. Communicate, with Camp Instructor, camper issues as they arise.
14. Work cooperatively with fellow Camp Assistants, Camp Instructor, and College Staff.
15. Other duties as assigned by the Camp Instructor and College Staff.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education and Qualifications:

• Previous camp assistant experience preferred.
• Possess, or be able to obtain, a valid first aid & CPR certification preferred.
• Must be able to pass a Level-2 background check.
(A comparable amount of training, education, or experience may be substituted for the above minimum qualifications.)
