Fox News Channel is seeking a multi-skilled Freelance StudioTechnician to join our DC Bureau. In this role, you will providetechnical support for both studio and control room operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in studio production and can step into multiple roles as needed, including stage manager, robotic camera operator, teleprompter operator, audio assistant, and video shader.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with technical staff to satisfy production needs for live and pre-recorded programming

  • Assist stage manager with setting up and breaking down show sets

  • Perform facility checks with A1 and stage manager for all mic and IFB positions in studio before daily production begins, including studio set up

  • Proactively assist stage manager in maintaining the integrity of the studio and all associated audio equipment

  • Assist on-air hosts and guests as needed to facilitate production

  • Operateteleprompter during live and recorded productions

  • Operate both robotic and non-robotic cameras consistent with established guidelines for framing, shot composition, timing, and equipment handling

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience

  • Experience in a television studio environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills required

  • Must be a collaborative team player who works well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic, studio environment

  • Must have solid working knowledge of broadcast language

  • Ability to work with on-air hosts with various speech patterns and preferences

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Available to work flexible, non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays

  • Must be able to lift 25lbs and set/strike studio gear
