The Role
We are looking for a dedicated Field Service Technician who will have broad responsibility to service and maintain home theatre systems, security alarm systems, and camera systems. This unique role blends hands-on field service with dedicated office hours to provide remote, phone-based troubleshooting for our clients. Responsibilities
  • Service, maintain, and troubleshoot smart home, video, audio, security alarm, and camera systems in residential settings.
  • Provide exceptional technical support over the phone during designated office hours, effectively communicating complex technical solutions to clients.
  • Interact with customers to determine system programming requirements.
  • Instruct customers on the safe and proper use of equipment.
  • Diagnose and solve for issues with audio/visual and security equipment while ensuring a positive experience for both our customers and employee teammates.

Minimum Requirements
  • One year of professional experience as a technician working on-site in residential settings.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers in a highly professional manner.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime required depending on the daily project schedule.
  • Daily commute to our offices in Sterling, VA.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to pass a background check to obtain a Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) license, which is required by Virginia law for servicing security alarm and camera systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Qolsys security panels.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience with home technology systems and automation products.
  • Two years of hands-on residential audiovisual system service and networking experience.
  • Control4 Cerifications.
  • Experience with Alarm.com software.
  • Experience with Eero and Ubiquity systems.
  • Experience with OvrC.

  • 30-$35/hr based on experience, with overtime available.
