Job description

Job's mission

We are seeking a motivated Systemsย Engineer Iย to support software-driven automation tools for semiconductor equipment and field-service workflows. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer with strong software fundamentals whoย isย comfortable workingย closeย to hardware, robotics, cameras, HMIs, measurement tools, databases, and production/service environments.ย

ย The engineer will help develop andย maintainย local applications, diagnostic tools, HMI workflows, data pipelines, automation tools, and supporting software used by engineering, manufacturing, field service, and cleanroom/cleanhouseย partners. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Python and/or C/C++, user interface development, basic networking, data handling, and troubleshooting systems in lab or deployed environments.ย

This role requiresย curiosity, attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability toย take ownership of assigned technical tasks while learning in aย cross-functionalย engineering environment.ย

What you will be working on

  • Develop andย maintainย software applications, diagnostic tools, and HMI interfaces for semiconductor equipment, lab fixtures, robotic tools, and field-service workflows.ย
  • Build operator-facing workflows that are reliable, readable, and easy to use on PCs, HMIs, tablets, or other equipment-connected interfaces.ย
  • Develop frontend/UI and backend logic using Python GUI frameworks, web UI tools, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, APIs/local services, configuration files, logging, and error handling.ย
  • Integrate software with robots, cameras, sensors, measurement devices, motion systems, and industrial equipment.ย
  • Support basic equipment networking, includingย settingย device IP addresses, understanding subnets, and connecting PCs/HMIs to robots, cameras, and controllers.ย
  • Buildย responsive application workflows using threading, synchronization, asynchronous execution, or queue-based updates so long-running robot, camera, measurement, or communication tasks do not freeze the HMI/operator interface.ย
  • Support databases and data pipelines for measurement results, equipment records, part data, reports, analytics, model inputs/outputs, and traceability.ย
  • Supportย data-driven and AI/MLย workflows where applicable, including feature extraction, model integration, similarity scoring, quality/health checks, prediction outputs, and engineering analytics.ย
  • Create andย maintainย scripts, tools, installers, documentation, validation notes, and test procedures needed to support applications in lab, production, or customer-adjacent environments.ย

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's orย Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,ย Robotics, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, orย a relatedย technical field.ย
  • Proficiencyย inย Pythonย for application development, automation, scripting, debugging, data handling, or equipment integration.ย
  • Experience withย C/C++ย or other lower-level programming languages is helpful for debugging, device integration, or performance-critical workflows.ย
  • Experience developing user interfaces, dashboards, diagnostic tools, HMIs, or local software applications.ย
  • Familiarity withย JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Python UI frameworks, or similar frontend/HMI technologies.ย
  • Familiarity with backend application logic, APIs/local services, configuration files, logging, error handling, and software testing.ย
  • Familiarity with databases or structured data usingย SQL, SQLite, JSON, Excel/CSV, NoSQL, or similar tools.ย
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts such asย IP addresses, subnets, ports, and local equipment connectivity.ย
  • Exposure to robotics, cameras, sensors, motion systems, measurement devices, machine vision, or industrial equipment is preferred.ย
  • Exposure toย AI/ML or data science toolsย such as scikit-learn,ย PyTorch, TensorFlow, NumPy, pandas, or similar frameworks is preferred.ย
  • Experience with threading, synchronization, asynchronous programming, event loops, or queue-based UI updates is preferred.ย
  • Experience with software packaging and deployment tools such asย PyInstaller, NSIS, virtual environments, PowerShell, Git, GitLab,ย CI/CD pipelines, or Microsoft Azure is a plus.ย
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially when debugging systems that combine software, hardware, data, and operator workflows.ย
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and work effectively in a cross-functional engineering environment.ย
