Position Summary:

As a Safety Manager at CAM Industrial Solutions, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with OSHA standards, EPA regulations, CAM HSE requirements, and SABIC’s client safety expectations, with a specific focus on supporting ongoing maintenance activities.

This role requires a proactive leader who can identify hazards, conduct inspections, drive compliance, and foster a culture of safety across all levels of operations. The successful candidate will balance time between the office and field to ensure active engagement in safety initiatives and program implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, EPA environmental requirements, CAM policies, and SABIC client standards.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions.
  • Establish, track, and report key leading and lagging safety indicators to the Leadership Team.
  • Develop action plans based on safety performance, including targeted audits, monthly campaigns, and training initiatives.
  • Act as a resource for Safety-related inquiries and ensure site leadership is actively engaged in incident investigations.
  • Lead and support incident investigations, reviews, and corrective action planning.
  • Oversee timely and accurate completion of incident and safety reports, including lessons learned and corrective actions.
  • Identify and promote opportunities to recognize positive safety performance at individual, team, and milestone levels.
  • Collaborate with client safety and leadership personnel to strengthen safety partnerships.
  • Provide direct oversight to Site Safety Advisors, maintaining a 25% office / 75% field presence.
  • Assess competency of Safety Advisors, providing coaching, mentorship, and development opportunities.
  • Set and uphold high standards of work while fostering a positive, high-performing Safety team culture.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities for Safety Advisors (timesheets, scheduling, and shift coordination).
  • Address and resolve performance or morale issues within the Safety team, escalating where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, including daily logs, incident reports, and corrective action registers.
  • Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and safety performance trends to the Leadership Team.
  • Ensure completion and distribution of all CAM and client-required safety reports.
  • Deliver presentations highlighting safety trends, achievements, gaps, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, and corrective measures within the Safety team.
  • Partner with the Site Manager and Corporate Safety Manager to align safety initiatives and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive Safety experience within maintenance, industrial, construction, or oil & gas environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910/1926, EPA regulations, and other applicable U.S. federal and state requirements.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with field teams while maintaining compliance standards.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred; CHST, OHST, or equivalent safety certifications considered an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, or related discipline is an asset.
