Job description

A Southern California Quality Management firm has an immediate need for a Roadway Critical Activity Point Manager / Professional Engineer to oversee the construction of Caltrans projects for roads and highways. This position is also responsible for overseeing, training and mentoring a team of inspectors, reviewing materials and laboratory test results, and ensuring that the structural systems are built to the approved design and specifications.


A Southern California Quality Management firm has an immediate need for a Roadway Critical Activity Point Manager / Professional Engineer to oversee the construction of Caltrans projects for roads and highways. This position is also responsible for overseeing, training, and mentoring a team of inspectors, reviewing materials and laboratory test results, and ensuring that the structural systems are built to the approved design and specifications.


Responsibilities:

  • Confirming that proper tests and inspections have been performed
  • Reviewing inspection and testing forms required for sign-off
  • Validating that test and inspection data meets requirements
  • Attending meetings
  • Able to work with the team to quickly resolve field issues
  • Respond/Resolve RFI’s and make sure they are closed in a timely manner
  • Document Control
  • Insure shoring, excavations, falsework and concrete mix designs for completeness
  • Make sure QC has been conducted
  • Enforcing Quality Program requirements, issuing NRC’s (Non - Conformance Reports) for deficient field activities and work with QC to resolve
  • Work with Materials Control Coordinator
  • Assist with Source Inspection Material control guidelines
  • Assist in developing quality checklists and training of inspectors
  • Oversee inspections and testing, coordinate with inspectors and provide training
