Purpose/Summary: Training responsibilities will focus on newly hired associates; however, the trainer will also be expected to cross-train and provide refresher training as needed or as requested by Leadership. During periods where no training is required, the VAS Trainer will

perform other duties as assigned within the VAS Operations, such as process audits and standard adherence.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Manager reserves the right to assign other duties as needed.

  • Confer with VAS Leadership and Training Leadership team on an ongoing basis to assess training needs.
  • Responsible for Emblems, Heat press, and Embroidery training for the VAS Production team. Ability to train and oversee an average of 3-4 hires weekly.
  • Select and obtain all resources necessary to perform successful training activities. Quick Reference Guide (QRG) signoff/review and QRG Assessment testing to ensure the associate is on track with training.
  • Communication on productivity progression scale for weeks 1-4. Demonstrate and train at the pace of work needed to obtain rates accordingly.
  • Check QRG Standards with trained associates to ensure they consistently follow the taught processes and address any deviations from QRG.
  • Schedule time to work with associates to realign any associates with the correct process.
  • Identify any obstacles or trends that are creating obstacles in attaining production and quality standards within their VAS role.
  • Assist employee in identifying any roadblocks to his/her productivity and assist in closing training gaps.
  • Maintain training records.
  • Maintain confidentiality with employee paperwork and opportunities.
  • Communicates any concerns about employee response to training to Leadership and/or HR as needed.
  • Select and obtain all resources necessary to perform successful training activities.
  • Provide Employee Training progress reports to the AM/Ops Manager upon completion of training, detailing the training's outcome and any required follow-up meetings.

Qualifications (Experience/Knowledge/Systems/Applications/Equipment): 1-3 Yrs

Job Description:

  • Experience in embroidery and training.
  • Strong knowledge of Galls and DC operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, i.e., strong listening, coaching, and ability to demonstrate how a process works and why it’s important.
  • Position requires good organizational skills and ability to maintain records.
  • Must be able to adapt training style to deal with different levels of experience and understanding.
  • Assist our training department in building QRGs and Training Curriculum.
  • Able to read and interpret QRGs and work instructions.
  • Able to effectively multitask; able to maintain a training schedule.
  • Must be adaptable and effective in dealing with scheduling changes that may occur.
  • Comfortable communicating with all levels of management and employees.
  • Good computer skills and able to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work overtime as needed to meet business needs.
  • Requires basic planning and organizational skills.
  • Prior experience training and coaching is preferred.
  • Sense of urgency – always working on the next opportunity.

Educations and/or Training Requirements: High School, General Education Degree (GED) or Equivalent

needs dictate.
