Job description

Job Summary

Radwell is modernizing its digital, data, AI, and operational platforms to enable faster delivery and measurable business outcomes. The Solution Architect is a hands‑on technical leader responsible for designing and delivering specific, end‑to‑end solution architectures that support Radwell’s business initiatives.

Unlike the Enterprise Architect, which defines enterprise‑wide strategy and target‑state architecture, the Solution Architect focuses on concrete solutions—owning the architecture of individual programs, products, or initiatives from design through implementation. This role bridges architecture and engineering by producing clear, executable designs and working closely with engineering teams to ensure successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1) Solution Architecture & Design (Primary Focus)

  • Own solution‑level architecture for specific initiatives across:
    • eCommerce and digital experience platforms
    • ERP systems (including Epicor P21 and NetSuite)
    • CRM (Salesforce)
    • Contact center (Genesys Cloud)
    • Data, analytics, and AI‑enabled workflows
  • Translate business requirements into end‑to‑end solution designs, including:
    • Application architecture
    • Integration patterns
    • Data flows
    • Non‑functional requirements (security, scalability, performance)
  • Produce clear technical artifacts such as solution diagrams, sequence diagrams, and interface contracts that engineering teams can execute against.

2) Hands‑On Delivery Support

  • Partner closely with engineering teams throughout implementation:
    • Participate in design reviews and code reviews
    • Help resolve complex integration and architecture issues
    • Ensure alignment between design intent and delivered solutions
  • Guide solutions from concept → build → production, ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Act as an escalation point for architecture decisions during delivery.

3) Integration & Platform Alignment

  • Design modern, composable integrations using:
    • API‑first and event‑driven patterns
    • Service‑based and microservices architectures
  • Ensure solutions align with Radwell’s enterprise standards and target‑state architecture while remaining pragmatic and delivery‑focused.
  • Help modernize legacy and point‑to‑point integrations as part of solution delivery.

4) Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with:
    • Product owners
    • Engineering teams
    • AI Architects and AI Engineers
    • Data, DevOps, and Security partners
  • Clearly communicate architectural tradeoffs, risks, and constraints to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Support intake and estimation by providing technical input during planning and prioritization.

5) Standards, Quality & Documentation

  • Contribute to architecture standards by providing feedback from real delivery experience.
  • Maintain high‑quality solution documentation and decision records.
  • Ensure security‑by‑design, performance, and operational readiness are considered in all designs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or technical design roles.
  • Strong experience designing and delivering end‑to‑end solutions in complex enterprise environments.
  • Practical knowledge of:
    • API and integration design
    • Modern application architectures (monolith modernization, microservices)
    • Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Experience working with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, contact center, or eCommerce platforms.
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear, implementable technical designs.
  • Strong communication skills across engineering and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Epicor P21, NetSuite, Salesforce, or Genesys Cloud.
  • Exposure to data platforms, analytics, or AI‑enabled solutions.
  • Experience supporting multi‑team or multi‑vendor delivery initiatives.
  • Background in distribution, supply chain, pricing, or digital commerce domains.

What Success Looks Like

  • Solutions are delivered on time and align with business goals.
  • Engineering teams have clear, actionable designs and minimal ambiguity.
  • Integration complexity is reduced and system reliability improves.
  • Enterprise Architects can focus on strategy while solution delivery accelerates.
  • Architecture decisions lead to measurable operational and customer impact.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Continuous sitting and typing for extended periods.
  • Lifting requirements include occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
  • Frequent walking or standing may be required at times
