Leidos’ Defense Systems Quality Engineering Control is seeking a Calibrations Manager to join our team….The goal for the greater Huntsville area calibrations within Mission Assurance is to focus on ensuring measurement integrity, minimizing risk, and ensuring compliance. Key metrics include On-Time Calibration Percentage, Overdue Calibration Rate, Instrument Out-of-Tolerance (OOT) Rate, and Calibration Turnaround Time (TAT).

Primary Responsibilities.  

  • Serve as Calibrations Manager to lead the calibration group toward optimal KPI statistics

  • Assist in tracking statistics for KPIs regarding Calibrations Compliance and Reliability

  • Create and maintain Calibration Process Documents and Work Instructions to be implemented within the Leidos configuration management system

  • Provide guidance for policies & procedures related to calibration to project personnel, internal quality, and external auditors

  • Serve as POC for metrology applications and assist in development and customization of metrology applications

  • Navigate logistics for scheduling and budgeting of vendor quotes used for monthly/yearly accounting, and approval of weekly invoices

  • Effectively communicate goals and directions to employees and coworkers, and also provide concise information to third-party auditors when required

Basic Qualifications.     

  • Must have 5+ years of experience in calibration and implementing metrology processes in accordance with ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards

  • Must have supervisory experience to mentor and train new employees, lead responsibilities and delegate tasks when necessary

  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications.

  • Proficient at multitasking and assigning priorities in a fast-moving environment

  • Ability to install grounding for ESD compliance and final verification testing

  • Ability to provide guidance for vendors to pinpoint resources with specialized capabilities to support unique tool requirements

  • Experience with performing internal audits and preparation for third-party audit certification

  • Certifications for but not limited to ESD Certified for testing & installation, Understanding Measurement Uncertainty, Dimensional Calibration Certification for Caliper & Micrometer, & Torque Wrenches

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification

  • Proficiency in navigation with Metrology Explorer

  • Proficient navigation with BC Mobile as an add-on to Metrology Explorer
