We are in need ofย an experienced, talented, creative and detail oriented custom cake artist to join our dynamic, high end and confectionary and dessert studio.ย Our ideal candidate will be positive, self-driven, passionate, reliable, motivated, a team player as well as have exceptional customer service and leadership skills.ย This is a full-time position preparing, designing and creating beautiful custom multi-tier cakes, and desserts for all occasions. You must be experienced in designing, preparing, constructing and decorating custom multi-tier cakes, and desserts from scratch that meet high-quality standards. Be prepared to work with a wonderful pastry team that prepares your cakes and desserts for final design as well as have input on quality and process as needed!

Requirements:

  • Must have 3+ years experience as a professional cake, designer, artist or of a relevant role
  • Must be creative, imaginative, artistically inclined and have a portfolio of your creations.
  • Must have experience working with ingredient limitations (ex. gluten free, allergies, sugar free, etc)
  • Must be able to layer, fill, frost and decorate cakes
  • Must have experience working with buttercream, fondant, gum paste, modeling chocolate, etc..ย 
  • Must have experience working with making cake toppers, fondant designs/figurines, and extensive decorating techniques and styles
  • Stay relevant with the latest styles, techniques and trends in cake decorationย 
  • Ensure that all cakes, pastries & desserts produced in the studio meet the high quality of standards in conjunction with Earth and Sugar
  • Diverse knowledge of sanitation protocols, baking preparation and techniques
  • US Work Authorization

  • Ability to lift and walk carrying products weighing at least 50 pounds (unassisted)ย 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design, production and decoration of multi-tiered cakes, pastries and desserts
  • Apply company standards, protocols & procedures at all times
  • Ensure that proper hygiene and safety of the station are according to the health department requirements
  • Execute preliminary orders for the dayย 
  • Ensure that your work area and kitchen equipment is at all times clean, organized and always fully stocked
  • Must comply with all health and safety guidelines
  • Must have transportation and maintain a consistent work attendance and punctuality record
