Job Title: Pastry Chef/ Cake Decorator with Experience

Summary: We are looking for a pastry chef and cake decorator to help out in our high volume, commercial bakery. Our decorators are responsible for the preparation of a wide variety of desserts including cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies and other items as needed. Should be creative and must have experience using a piping bag.


Duties and responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned

·        Maintain a high level of reliability, cleanliness and honesty.

·        Work cooperatively with others to complete tasks.

·        Create visually appealing product displays

·        Be able to lift at least 40 pounds on a regular basis

·        Must work well with others and have good communication skills

·        Must be able to talk to customers and assist them in making good choices with their order

·        Must be able to work Weekends and Holidays

·        Should be comfortable with large volume production and be able to work on several tasks at once with speed and precision.

·        Must have piping skills and knife skills

·        Should be able to use judgement to select appropriate ingredients for baked goods

·        Assure adequate quantities of ingredients are in stock. Notify management when stock is low

·        Oversee quality control and ensure appropriate variety and quality of products have been prepared daily

·        Ensure the appropriate variety and quantity of products are in the cooler/ freezer for baking the following day

·        Ensure when necessary, frozen products required for the following day are withdrawn from the freezer the night before

·        Prepare the kitchen each morning to include all equipment and utensils are put away

·        Bake/make all products instructed

·        Refills and rotates pastry cases with fresh baked goods as needed

·        Cleans and assures kitchen work areas have been properly cleaned at the end of each day to include wiping down all equipment, table tops, walls and floors

·        Disassemble and assemble equipment parts for cleaning as necessary

·        Preform other related duties as assigned

·        Ability to take constructive criticism and work in a busy environment

·    Must be able to Keep positive attitude
