Job description

Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.


Wake Preparatory Academy is accepting applications for Lunch/Recess Aides for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates must must be willing to undergo a background check.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor students during lunch and recess to ensure their safety and well-being, providing constant supervision in the cafeteria and on the playground.
  • Promote positive behavior and social interactions among students, addressing conflicts or issues as they arise and implementing school behavior policies.
  • Help students with opening food containers, utensils, and drinks, ensuring they have everything they need to enjoy their meals.
  • Promote healthy eating habits by encouraging students to try new foods and make nutritious choices.
  • Address minor disputes or conflicts between students calmly and effectively, guiding them toward resolution.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergencies or accidents, administering first aid if necessary and alerting appropriate staff as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the cafeteria and play areas, ensuring that tables are wiped down and trash is collected.
  • Engage with students during recess, encouraging inclusive play and ensuring that all students are participating and having fun.
  • Foster a respectful and inclusive environment by modeling appropriate behavior and encouraging students to treat each other kindly.
  • Other duties as assigned.
