About This Role
Vicar's Landing is seeking a friendly, dependable Café Attendant to support the daily dining experience for our members and guests. This role is an important part of our Dining Services team, providing café service and supporting a.m. table service in the Sawgrass Cafe. The Café Attendant helps create a welcoming atmosphere by preparing and serving quality food, maintaining clean and organized service areas, and delivering courteous, attentive service that enhances daily life in our community.
What You'll Do
  • Prepare, merchandise, and serve café items such as salads, deli foods, desserts, and breakfast offerings while following standardized recipes and food safety standards
  • Set up café and breakfast service areas prior to opening, ensuring cleanliness, proper stocking, and register readiness
  • Provide friendly, attentive counter and table service, taking orders and responding to member and guest requests professionally
  • Operate the cash register accurately, handle transactions, and complete opening and closing procedures
  • Maintain clean and sanitary workstations, including dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and proper food storage
  • Properly label, date, rotate, and store food items in accordance with safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Communicate menu selections, specials, and service updates clearly while working collaboratively with the Dining Services team

Skills You Need
Must Have Skills
  • Strong hospitality and customer service mindset with the ability to work courteously with members, guests, and team members
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, perform simple arithmetic, and follow oral instructions
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds in a fast paced food service environment

Nice to Have Skills
  • Previous café, dining, or food service experience
  • Experience operating a basic cash register system
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and table service practices

Education: Degree not required if you have relevant skills or experience.
