Project Manager (Contract) - Advanced Data Analytics
Role Type: Full-time contract with potential to convert; 1-year term with strong likelihood of renewal
Location: New York, NY; in office at least 3 days/week
Our Client is a leading independent financial advisory firm serving clients on high-stakes strategic and capital markets matters. This role falls under "Corporate - Global Technology - AI, Data & Analytics."
We are seeking a hands-on Project Manager to drive execution across a fast-paced Advanced Data Analytics portfolio delivering data science, machine learning, and AI-enabled tools This role requires strong day-to-day project management in a product-oriented environment, bringing structure, visibility, and follow-through without adding unnecessary process.
The PM will manage concurrent workstreams from prototype through production, maintain portfolio visibility, run team operating cadence, track risks and decisions, and communicate status clearly to both technical teams and business stakeholders. The role works closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and front-office partners, and reports to the D&A Program Management Lead.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a current view of portfolio priorities, statuses, dependencies, and in-flight initiatives
  • Build and manage lightweight project plans across multiple AI, ML, and analytics workstreams
  • Track delivery from POC and pilot through production, ensuring sequencing, handoffs, and blockers are managed
  • Run team meetings and working sessions; capture decisions, actions, and follow-ups
  • Maintain RAID logs and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies early with clear options
  • Coordinate across technical teams and business stakeholders to keep delivery aligned
  • Produce concise, accurate status reporting for senior stakeholders
  • Support intake and prioritization as portfolio demand grows

Must-Have Skills / Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience on complex cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong experience in agile or hybrid delivery environments
  • Hands-on ownership of PM tools and cadence: project plans, RAID logs, status reports, and meeting management
  • Experience supporting data, analytics, or technology product initiatives
  • Ability to work effectively with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders without being deeply technical
  • Experience in financial services or another regulated industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and senior business audiences
  • Ability to operate independently in fast-moving environments with shifting priorities

Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, or data science product delivery
  • Experience supporting front-office or client-facing technology
  • Background in investment banking, capital markets, private equity, or hedge funds

Compensation: $70.00 - $90.00 per hour
