Job description

Insight Global is hiring for a Permit Coordinator/CAD Drafter for a 12 month contract to hire position. This is an entry‐level role within the Permit Coordination career path, with a primary focus on using CAD software to create and update permit and utility drawings in support of electric distribution projects. This role works under the guidance of senior permit coordinators, designers, and project leadership. The PC I is responsible for supporting permitting activities by producing accurate, clear, and compliant CAD drawings used for municipal, DOT, and utility permit submittals. Responsibilities may include: Creating and revising CAD drawings for permit applications, including electric distribution layouts, lighting plans, and joint‐use exhibits Updating drawings based on field data, markups, redlines, and reviewer comments Assisting with preparation of permit packages by ensuring drawings meet jurisdictional and client standards Maintaining drawing files, naming conventions, and document control within client systems Entering and updating data related to permits, work orders, and design changes Supporting permit tracking, routing, and status updates alongside CAD deliverables Assisting with schedule updates, reporting, and basic client documentation as needed


Required Skills

  •  Minimum 1 year of CAD experience, preferably AutoCAD, supporting utility or infrastructure projects 
  • Ability to create, edit, and update CAD drawings based on redlines, markups, and field data
  • Basic understanding of electric distribution or utility layouts (overhead and/or underground) Experience working with permit drawings, exhibits, or construction‐related documentation


Compensation:

$26/hr to $32/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
