Bachelor’s degree in a related specialized area or field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an CAD Specialist, proficient in CREO and knowledgeable of PDMLink data management software. This
position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics
Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

Key Responsibilities:


• Develops and applies computer aided design (CAD) software engineering methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems.
• Defines and selects new approaches and implementation of CAD software engineering applications and design specifications and parameters.
• Performs detailed design and testing of electrical or mechanical components or subsystems.
• Optimizes tasks and resources in support of projects, while promoting process and policy compliance.
• Increases understanding of process applications within the domain of expertise.
• Supports proposals as assigned.
• Applies technical concepts to specific tasks.
• Creates mechanical designs that meet relevant functional requirements.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


• Ability to develop and integrate new concepts, optimize alternatives, and establish contingency plans.
• Clear understanding of mechanical stress; structural, thermal, and tolerance analysis.
• Clear proficiency in the use of current strategic CAD tools (Pro-E/Creo preferred) and Microsoft Office applications.
• Competency in all aspects of mechanical design, part fabrication, and assembly of electronics.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, effective presentation skills, and strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
• Clear problem-solving and collaborative skills with a solution-oriented approach to analyzing technical problems that affect the team.
• Clear understanding of project commitments and interdependencies.
