Job description

The Construction Co-op Student assists project management, coordination, and/or estimating teams with various tasks related to building, coordinating, and estimating construction projects, applying classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios.
A. Project support
• Learn and utilize construction specifications and contract requirements.
• Assist with quantity take-offs, bid preparation, and subcontractor solicitation.
• Help manage project schedules, coordinate material deliveries, and create production plans and reports.
• Conduct quality inspections and document quality reports.
• Support cost tracking and analysis for project controls.
• Assist in the management of subcontractors and review submittal documents.
• Maintain project files, drawings, and production records.
• Assist with construction administration tasks, such as RFI and submittal review.
• Assist with drafting and CAD operations.
• Contribute to billing procedures, including subcontracts, change orders, and pay applications.
B. Field operations
• Work alongside field craftworkers to gain hands-on experience in various trades.
• Assist in ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to safety protocols.
• Conduct site inspections, document site conditions, and assist with site layout.
• Learn about HVAC and Plumbing equipment operation and maintenance.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Associate's degree program in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Technology, Computer Aided Drafting & Design, or a related field.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
• Valid driver's license (if required for travel to job sites).
• OSHA 10 Certification (Will assist in obtaining if not already certified).
• Proficiency in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
• Familiarity with relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, project management software) preferred.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong work ethic.
