Onsite Architectural CAD Draftsmen for growing metal shop in Willoughby, OH
Role and Responsibilities
- Operate computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment to produce designs, working drawings and shop drawings accurately
- Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents to determine effect on architectural designs.
- Ability to understand structural, electrical and mechanical design concepts
- Analyze technical implications of architect’s design concept, for inferences between structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical disciplines
- Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings and structures, based on preliminary concepts and sketches
- Lay out plane interior room arrangements for projects using CAD
- Create and revise drawings as required using established standards
- Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs
- Research dimensions and make up of materials and equipment to be installed per plans amp; specifications
- Determine procedures and instructions to be followed, according to design specifications and quantity of materials
- Prepare quality take offs, bidding documents and technical reports for specific projects
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 2+ years of experience
- Knowledge of structural issues, architectural design, electrical, mechanical and low voltage work relative to luxury residential market preferred
- Proficient in AutoCAD (Required)
- Experience working with external reference files (Xrefs)
- Knowledge in artistic/architectural metalworks
- Experience with dimensioning and noting
- Experience with block usage
- Must be extremely detail oriented
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
