We're hiring a part-time, entry-level Grill Cook at Cactus Yards, perfect for individuals with basic kitchen experience-or those eager to learn. This role is ideal for someone ready to turn reliability and customer service skills into hands-on experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
The talented team at Craft Culinary Concepts brings their top tier service and management to leading stadiums, sports venues, cultural attractions and music venues across the nation.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTION:
The Grill Cook is responsible for preparing and producing hot and cold food items in a high-volume kitchen environment while ensuring food is prepared safely, timely, and to established quality standards. This position performs grill and line responsibilities using approved recipes and guest specifications and works collaboratively with teammates of varying skill levels to achieve successful service results.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Observe and practice all established health and sanitation procedures.
  • Prepare, cook, and plate food items according to approved recipes and quality standards.
  • Handle food products from raw preparation through cooking, holding, plating, service, and/or display.
  • Ensure all food products are prepared, held, and served at correct temperatures.
  • Ensure proper rotation, labeling, and dating of all food products.
  • Always use proper utensils, equipment, and portion standards.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work area during and after events.
  • Clean kitchen areas during and after events, leaving them in a ready state for future use.
  • Properly use and care for kitchen equipment and cooking utensils.
  • Work collaboratively with team members while also performing tasks independently.
  • Assist with re-stocking of food items as assigned.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures and assigned cleaning duties.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and Craft Culinary Concepts policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid County Food Handler Card must be on file and in possession each shift.
  • Ability to perform basic math related to food preparation and recipes.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service environment.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and basic math/US monetary assessment.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Preferred ServSafe Certification.
  • Preferred two (2) or more years of high-volume kitchen experience.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in variable temperatures and noisy environments.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as driven by events.
