The Vacancy

Role Summary

The Director, North America Cable Sales is responsible for leading the strategic growth, market penetration, and overall sales performance of Megger's cable product portfolio across the North American region. This role oversees regional sales activities, develops high-performing sales teams, and strengthens key customer and industry relationships. Acting as the senior commercial leader for cable solutions-including fault location, test, and diagnostic equipment-the Director drives strategic initiatives, manages pipeline development, supports new product innovation, and ensures alignment with Megger's longterm business objectives.

This position covers all North American markets and provides leadership, guidance, and support to the extended field sales organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Sales Management
  • Lead the development and execution of the North America cable sales strategy, driving revenue growth and market share for Megger cable monitoring, fault location, test, and diagnostic solutions.
  • Oversee time and territory management planning across all assigned regions to ensure optimal market coverage and resource allocation.
  • Develop and manage the regional sales pipeline using the HighQuality Opportunity Development process in partnership with Regional Sales Managers, Inside Sales, and Field Sales teams.
  • Establish sales forecasts, performance targets, and corrective action plans to meet or exceed business objectives.
Commercial Execution & Customer Engagement
  • Support and enhance customer relationships across electric utilities (transmission, distribution, and generation), independent power producers, OEMs, electrical testing companies, and industrial facilities.
  • Drive sales effectiveness through participation in trade shows, industry events, and customer demonstrations.
  • Provide seniorlevel support for complex technical discussions, project pursuits, and strategic accounts.
Sales Team Development
  • Train, mentor, and develop the outside sales team, ensuring they can conduct basic product demonstrations and effectively identify and develop opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing technical guidance related to cable fault location, test, and diagnostic equipment within scope of expertise.
Operations, Reporting & Compliance
  • Ensure timely and accurate CRM (SAP C4C) updates, including detailed entries of customer activity, pipeline, and forecasted opportunities.
  • Provide monthly and periodic reports on sales activity, market trends, and strategic initiatives to North America leadership.
  • Manage and control expenses in accordance with Megger guidelines.
  • Oversee the scheduling, maintenance, and rotation of cable demonstration vans in coordination with Regional Sales Managers.
CrossFunctional Collaboration & Product Innovation
  • Partner with engineering, product management, and leadership teams to provide field insights on customer needs, market shifts, and competitive trends.
  • Contribute to new product development initiatives by communicating customer requirements and industry observations gained through field activity and organizational involvement.
