Cable Repair Technician - Night Shift | Odessa, TX
About the Role
Join Champion X as a Cable Repair Technician on our dynamic night shift team in Odessa, TX. You'll play a critical part in maintaining, repairing, and building Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) cables, supporting vital energy sector operations through hands-on, safety-sensitive work. This position is perfect for mechanically inclined individuals seeking skills development, advancement opportunities, and the stability of a full-time, shop-based role.
Responsibilities
- Perform cable builds, splicing, repairs, and high-voltage testing on ESP cables with precision and safety
- Complete accurate testing documentation and maintain detailed records of repairs
- Operate cable spooling equipment and ensure the integrity of all cable installations
- Troubleshoot electrical equipment and respond promptly to operational issues
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and supervisors
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and use required PPE at all times
- Support a culture of continuous improvement and customer-first service
Required Skills and Experience
- Basic troubleshooting for electrical equipment
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
